About Service Configuration

The WHM home screen button, Service configuration, allows you to configure many services, which often run as daemons in your web server. The daemons run in the background of your server so they are less noticeable.

Apache Configuration

You can configure Apache with the collection of functions provided by this feature

Bandmin Password

This feature is a set of Perl scripts that are designed to monitor and log bandwidth usage by IP. Here is where you can configure Bandmin such as change username and password.

Configure PHP and suExec

In this feature you can change Apache’s PHP handlers configuration, PHP version, and enable or disable the suExec program.

Configure cPanel Log Rotation

You can specify which log files should be manipulated by cPanel’s cpanellogd deamon. All specified log files will be compressed and stored in the appropriate archive.

Configure cPanel Web Disk

This feature provides an interface which allows you to manage the TLS/SSL cipher list for Web Disk. 

Configure cPanel Web Services

This feature provides an interface which allows you to manage the TLS/SSL cipher list for cPanel web services.

Configure Exim

Exim configuration help is provided by this feature. cPanel includes Exim as its mail transfer agent, which is responsible for sending and receiving email messages.

Configure FTP Server

You can configure your FTP server’s behavior using the preferences you choose using this feature.

Configure Server Selection

You can select a FTP server daemon to use or disable FTP using this feature.

Configure and Select Mailserver

Configure POP3 and IMAP protocols used by Dovecot or Courier, the two mail servers offered by cPanel, with the Mailserver Configuration feature. Enable or disable you mailserver, Courier or Dovecoat as well as IMAP and POP3 servers with the Mailserver selection feature.

Manage Service SSL Certificates

This feature provides an interface in which you are able to access a number of features to install certificates to your web server or reset your server’s certifications.

Nameserver Selection

You can select NSD or BIND as your nameserver software or disable nameserver using the Nameserver selection feature.

PHP Configuration Editor

Configure your PHP setting using a WHM interface using this feature, the PHP information in cPanel can be viewed by you users.

Service Manager

This feature provides a list of daemons that can run on your server, you can select which daemons you want enable and which daemons you would like to monitor.
