How to Install an SSL Certificate in Microsoft IIS 7

Follow the below steps to install an SSL Certificate in Microsoft IIS 7:

  1. Select Start
  2. Hover over Administrative Tools
  3. Select Internet Services Manager
  4. Select your server from the Internet Information Services Manager
  5. Double click Server Certificates at the bottom of the page
  6. Select Complete Certificate Request in the Actions panel
  7. Select … to find your certificate
  8. Select *.* as your file name extension in the Open window
  9. Select your certificate then select Open
  10. Enter the name you wish to name your certificate file in the Complete Certificate Request window
  11. Select OK
  12. Select the name of your server in which you installed the certificate in within the Internet Information Services Manager window
  13. Select + next to Sites
  14. Select the site to secure with the SSL certificate
  15. Select Bindings… in the Actions panel on the right
  16. Select Add…
  17. Within the Add Site Binding window: Select https for Type, Select All Unassigned for IP address, Type 443 for Port, Select the SSL certificate you just installed, and them select OK
  18. Close the Site Bindings window
  19. Close the Internet Information Services Manager window
