How to Generate a Certificate Sign Request in Microsoft IIS 8

Follow the below steps to generate a Certificate Sign request in Microsoft IIS 8

1. Start up the Server Manager
2. Select Internet Information Services Manager from Tools
3. Select the server name that you want to generate the CSR within the Connections panel
4. Double click Server Certificates in the middle panel
5. Select Create Certificate Request in the Actions panel
6. Enter the Distinguished Name Properties and select Next
7. Select Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provide for Cryptographic Service Provider
8. Select 2048 or higher for Bit length
9. Select … and enter the location and file name
10. Select Finish
