Problem Adding Addon Domain

Error Message

The following steps address the issue if you receive an error message when trying to add an Addon Domain. The Error message will read something like this:

“Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver.”

Fixing the Issue

1. First logon to WHM
2. Once you are logged in to WHM select Tweak Settings under Server Setup
3. Select the checkboxes next to Allow Creation of Parked/Addon Domains that are not registered and Allow Creation of Parked/Addon Domains that resolve to other servers

*Note that this can be a major security problem, so if you must have is enabled be sure not to allow users to park common internet domains*
