2nd – The Head AWS Makes How Much?!
Andrew Jassy was promoted to a new CEO role for AWS about a year ago and is now the company’s top-paid employee. Last year, he earned even more than the Amazon CEO Jeff Bezons with $35.4 million in stock, $179,000 in salary and a 401(k) match. The stock values have since risen to about $54 million making his earnings even higher.

3rd – Melbourne IT Recovers from DDoS Attack
Australian domain registrar and web host Melbourne IT has confirmed that an hour and a half-long service disruption occur. Causing suffering for its customers and its subsidiaries Netregistry and TPP Wholesale on Thursday was the result of a DDoS attack.
The attack on the company’s DNS servers affected a large number of national and international customers. The company says, disrupting cloud and cPanel web hosting, email platform, and access to the customer administration portal.

4th – Oops, Oakland city website down; domain name not renewed
The city of Oakland’s website was down Thursday for some Internet users. This because the city had not renewed its domain name, spokeswoman Karen Boyd said.
For people trying to access oaklandnet.com were met a placeholder page for a domain registration site. Which read, “backorder domain, renew now.â€
It serves as a reminder to organizations everywhere tout renew your domain names!
